Adopt a 5th Grader
Encouraging Children to Realize Their Dreams
Adopt a 5th Grader helps to motivate young students to complete high school and go to college. The goals of the program are to:
- Impress on students at an early age the importance of completing high school and going to college.
- Promote and recognize good study and citizenship habits.
- Focus on students who might not otherwise be motivated in school due to difficult circumstances.
Adopt a 5th Grader benefits students in the communities of South Lake County. It is a program operated by the Lake Campus Fund of Woodland Community College.
Contributions are tax deductible. A gift of $700 per student is invested and, based on an average annual return of 6%, grows to $1,000 by the time the student graduates from high school, allowing for a maximum scholarship of $1,000. Gifts of all sizes are accepted, gifts less than $700 will be combined with other gifts to create a group adoption of a student.
